| It was Fate - Pt 1 |

| I still hold to the idea that it was fate that brought us together; fate that drew us together to comfort and teach each other. I'll never forget our one night together nor how our lives have changed for the better. It started off as any other business trip for me. I arrived in Texas early and, as it always goes, my room wasn't ready. The sigh that escaped my lips, told Hotel Zala's clerk of my mental state and she offered a sympathetic smile. "I'm very sorry sir," she said, hoping to avoid a scene. "Not your fault," I replied, not caring to waste my time with complaints. With quick instructions to her to call me as soon as the room was finished, I walked away, caring my bags with me. I decided, after the flight that a good meal and a stiff drink were in order. I soon found myself in the Dragonfly Restaurant of the Hotel. I had been here a couple times before and found the food and drink to be excellent. Not that I came here often. Had it not been for this business meeting, I would never have been able to afford such a high dollar place for a week. I seated myself at the bar, my belongings close at hand. I ordered a Club Sandwich and a nice Brandy to wash it all down. As I sat back to await my order, that's when I spotted you. You were like a goddess of beauty in the flesh. I swore I heard the great Aphrodite cry out in anger when I spotted you. You glowed with a cool calm and a composed manner that bespoke of a woman of great accomplishment and mind. Your beauty drowned out the world, tunneling my vision to show only you. I had never felt this way before, nor ever would again. You wore a tight mid thigh length black skirt with a white blouse; pale designs and lace in the shirt, added to your striking appearance. Your hair shone like a forest in autumn, a beautiful blend of browns, blond and reddish color to your hair. Your face was slim and beautiful, eyes a striking jade and lips full yet petite. I was pulled from my silent worship of you by the bartender delivering my meal. I tried to look away from you, to keep my mind on other things, but found I couldn't. Even when you weren't in my field of vision, I still saw you. My mind reeled with a hundred different reasons why I should forget you. The first to come was the thought of my wife. I had never cheated before, nor even considered it despite how my wife acted toward me. For the last two years I had been in a sexless, passionless and unloving marriage to a woman who wanted nothing to do with me. At first, our marriage had been typical, ups and downs but relatively good. Then, for some unknown reason, she grew tired of me, said that she wasn't in love with me anymore but refused to get a divorce. I had contented myself with my work and hobbies, leaving her to her own devices. Occasionally I would try to patch things up with her. At first I fought for nearly six months to get her to love me again. But she would have nothing of it. Since then, I looked forward to my business trips so that I could get away and relax. Now I was cursing this trip. Other reservations flooded my mind but nothing held a candle to the flame of desire burning in me for you. That's when you looked over and our eyes connected. I felt the spark immediately, felt the pull of attraction and fate between us. In your eyes, I saw the same smoldering lust for me that I had for you. It was beyond words, it was nearly magical. My heart pounded as you stood, collecting your purse and dropping several dollars on the table for your drink. As you walked towards me, my heart fluttered even more. I tried desperately to stop it and calm myself down. "Hello," you said, your voice like that of an angel's, "May I set down?"
