Educating Sangita

Sangita wanted to snatch it from his hand.

“My wife loves them. She’s got a bookcase full!” He said looking at her.

Sangita said nothing.

“That’s how we met you know!” He started to say, as he flipped through some of the pages. “She was trying to reach for one in a WH Smith’s bookshop and I happened to see her and took it down for her.”

Sangita remained silent but was very embarrassed to have been caught reading BDSM books.

“She was married at the time but her husband was strictly vanilla.” He continued. “Anyway we got chatting; I told her I was into this as well and the rest is history!”

She managed a smile at his openness.

Ross noticed the look of embarrassment. “Sorry, I didn’t mean to embarrass you.” He told her. “There’s no need to be ashamed, lots of people are interested in this kind of thing. You only have to look at the numbers sold to realise that.” He laughed.

She smiled again, feeling a little better.

“I’ll drop some round next time I am passing if you want?” He told her.

Sangita thanked him, not really expecting him to keep his word, as he left.

Two days later Ross returned. Taking off his backpack he delved inside and took out a handful of books. “Sandy says you can read these.” He said handing them to her. “She would like them back sometime though.” He told her.

Sangita didn’t really know what to say but she accepted them and thanked him out of courtesy. “Yes, of course, I will give them back.” She promised.

“There’s no rush.” He told her.

There was an awkward silence for a few moments as he stood there expectantly. She had just made some coffee and he was looking at her cup on the coffee table. “Would you like a coffee?” She asked him, feeling that it would have been ignorant of her not to offer, but hoping he would decline.

Ross thanked her and sat down on the settee. A few minutes later she joined him sitting nervously a few feet away from him. “So how long have you been interested then?” He asked her.
