| Vows of Love and Friendship When the mood is right and the lights are low, Your hands, across the table reach. You gaze into my eyes, just so— Your eyes, they question, they beseech. Would I be yours and share your world And bare my soul, revealing mine? Would I stand firm and n’er grow cold, But stay and warm your heart so fine? I answer you by gazing back -- My love grows warmer as we touch. My hands reach yours – you have that knack To capture hearts and love me much. “Of course I’m yours, if you’ll be mine,” I say to you across the meal. “I’ll e'er be yours in love divine, And give to you with all I feel.” | ||||||

| There you go again, Pepper, wrapping your phrases around my heart and making me feel envious that I'm not the one who found you. I'm not that easily moved by most poetry... |
