Ok well let me first say .... Great job Night :-) I do so enjoy your storys ..... Well I would say that this story in my opinion Is porn ...I say this because of the graphic wording used in it ... But that's just me :-D

That is a really tough call night. I am not sure which category to place this one in... But I will say that as always you have found a new way to make us think while you turn us on... bravo on a job well done.

Hi, night. Another great one from you. Enjoyed it. Basically my standard is that erotica has a well defined story line, like so many other wonderful stories you have written. Porn is very vivid wall-to-wall pile driving sex with little if any story line and virtually no conversation. So, darlin', as much as it flies in the face of what everyone else has said, this is porn. But given the chance to re-enact it, I could change my mind. lol

To answer that you would need to agree on the definition of each category, something that has been argued over for a long time.
I believe that basically porn and erotica are the same, in the sense that the object is to create sexual arousal in the reader.
To a large extent the category given to a story is decided by the publisher. The same story could appear in a "men's magazine" and be called porn, and yet if published in a fancy "journal" be described as erotica.
I broadly agree with Lushi's definitions for use in general terms.

But I believe that for maximum arousal, the best formula is something in between her definitions.
I try to write graphic sex with a plausible plot line, and am happy to call it porn, plain and simple.

For me, too much unnecessary background in a story distracts from the sex. Equally, too much graphic sex without motivation, explanation, or character description does not arouse me.

With apologies and due respect to Night, for me his story falls into the latter category, and I did not find it arousing.
However the very clever ending rescued it as a story. Full marks for that.
It is endings like that, which make short stories excellent.

Arguing over definitions for this kind of thing never really seems to get anyone very far.

This story is HOT! I don't really mind of it's erotica or porn, I really like it.

For me it's porn though. We learned little of the characters, the setting or anything else.
But I don't think that's a bad thing. Written porn like that is awesome and that's a great example.

My dilemma now though is that if I give it a good vote, it'll be above my story in the TIT ratings... hmmm.... conundrum....

what to do??
