| Sandra walked down the empty cemetery lane leading to her dead husband’s grave. She loved coming here in the middle of the night, especially when the moon was full. She could taste the salty air with every breath she took. Her friends always called her morbid for going to his grave in the middle of the night. No one knew exactly how she got the Night Watchman to allow her in but he did none the less. She carried a bag full of her favorite toys and a blanket to lie on the ground above his grave Sandra loved going to the cemetery drunk off her ass. She went to the club with her friends every Friday night and every Friday night she attracted the attention of the cutest guys. She loved watching them get turned on after she flirted by looking at them and sucking on her straw. Thanks to her friends she was the proud owner of a flesh colored penis straw that she took with her wherever she went. Sandra was a guy magnet. She was 5’5 with the legs of a gymnast and an ass that belonged on one obsessed with squats. Her hair was light brown and her eyes were honey brown with hints of green. Tony, her love, always told her he loved her button nose coupled with her full beautiful lips, but she never knew if he was talking about her lips or her lips. Sandra’s friends envied her ability to turn a horde of men into horn dogs. Even the most faithful man would turn into a dog in her presence; the only thing that brought them back was getting back handed by their girl before she walked away. Her girlfriends always looked forward to Fridays because they knew she’d turn someone down and he’d end up drowning his sorrows on one of them. There was no doubt about it, Sandra Quiroz was a bombshell. Sandra hadn’t gone to Tony’s grave the week before; she always skipped the weekend before Halloween because he’d died around that time. She took that time to be with his parents. He’d been an only child and they missed him so much, especially since he and Sandra had decided to wait on children. She walked down the abandoned lane and thought to herself, “Tonight is the night, I will say goodbye and move on.” It hurt to think that but she knew it was time and life was waiting, it wouldn’t be waiting for long and she didn’t want life to pass her by. Yes, she went out with her friends and flirted with guys but she never made any real connections; she was tied to Tony and didn’t understand why. All Sandra knew was that Tony was her life; it was weird to think that since he was dead. As she veered towards the grass she looked into the sky, the moon was high, full and majestic. She loved walking under the full moon especially on Halloween because her dreams of Tony seemed more vivid, more real. It was almost like he was there. Sandra didn’t know if it was because of the beauty of the night or because that’s when she missed him the most. Halloween was her favorite holiday, when Tony was alive she would drag him to every party she was invited to, sometimes 3 or 4 before Halloween night. They went to over to 20 Halloween parties in the time they’d known each other.

| Sofi, this is clearly a very fine idea worked out with real sensitivity. It was well worth the time to read it. It must have taken a really powerful moment of imagination to compose. As R.E.M. says "Everybody hurts. Sometime." Thank you for writing it.
