Blue Ridge Ecstasy

Looking up into the North Carolina sky, the heat of summer was in full force and most if not ALL of North Carolina per-say was miserable. The heat was enough to make you want to stay inside at all costs, but then the factor of the humidity wanted to make you run around stark ass naked and get as much air on your sweaty body as possible.

Many people during this time would all commune around the base of the Blue Ridge Mountains, otherwise known to locals as Grandfather Mountain or Sugar Mountain which led down to a quaint town called Banner Elk. I myself was more for the scenery and majestic scenes of the Blue Ridge Mountain vistas so I hopped into my pickup, rolled the windows down and set out for a little weekend getaway.

It wasn't a long drive from my home to any of the areas in which I spoke of, I passed the "Round Table" and Tynecastle (an area full of stone buildings). Down further to my favorite place called Julian Price Park. It was a primitive, quaint campground which has a beautiful lake perfect for lounging.

As I pulled into the campground I was truly surprised to only see four or five spots filled, especially this time of year. Not thinking much more of it I pulled into a spot, and pulled out my tent and began to set up camp.

I was halfway through putting up my tent when I heard, "Excuse me?"

Looking up I smiled at the Park Ranger standing there. "Yes?" I responded sweetly, while in the back of my mind I was thinking..ooo he's hot!

"Um, I noticed you setting up a tent, have you paid your dues by chance yet?" He asked kindly looking what I thought was my truck over but in turn was actually me.

"No, Sir, I planned to do that as soon as I got my camp set up. Is that okay?"

"Yes, of course. How long will you be staying?" He asked eyeing the camp for sights of other people that may have been with me.

"Well I. (emphasised on I, of course). Just came up for the weekend, get away from the heat and humidity back in the city." I flashed a killer smile at him while making sure to give him a "peek" at the rest of my tiny clothes as I moved about.

"Mm, alone I see? Well you did bring firewood and the necessities I'm sure?" He asked.

"Oh shoot, I forgot firewood." I grumbled feeling stupid.

"No problem, once you get yourself settled and pay up, I'll be more than happy to bring some your way." He offered.

"Thank you so much." I smiled again, though I appreciated the offer immensely I was DYING to go swimming in the lake and just lounge around.

He nodded, gave a small tip of his hat and left.
