Dear Doctor --

I have a friend who claims that her husband increased the volume of his semen after they began to have Tantric sex. They went to a number of weekend retreats where they learned various techniques. She claims he shoots two to three times the amount he used to shoot.

Is this possible?

Until we hear from the good Doctor, I can share a couple of related things that I have found:

First, in regard to orgasm itself, on Wapedia-( a part of Wikipedia)-

"Orgasm, and indeed sex as a whole, are physical activities that can require exertion of many major bodily systems. A 1997 study in the British Medical Journal [53] based upon 918 men age 45-59 found that after a ten year follow-up, men who had fewer orgasms were twice as likely to die of any cause as those having two or more orgasms a week. A follow-up in 2001 which focused more specifically on cardiovascular health found that having sex three or more times a week was associated with a 50% reduction in the risk of heart attack or stroke."

And they describe tantric sex--

"5. In tantric sex
Tantric sex is the ancient Indian spiritual tradition of sexual practices. It attributes a different value to orgasm than traditional cultural approaches to sexuality. Some practitioners of tantric sex aim to eliminate orgasm from sexual intercourse by remaining for a long time in the pre-orgasmic and non-emission state. Advocates of this, such as Rajneesh, claim that it eventually causes orgasmic feelings to spread out to all of one's conscious experience. [55] [56]

Advocates of tantric and neotantric sex who claim that Western culture focuses too much on the goal of climactic orgasm, which reduces the ability to have intense pleasure during other moments of the sexual experience, suggest that eliminating this enables a richer, fuller and more intense connection. [57]"

My understanding is that the Tantric principle stress the energies in the body and mind and the combination of them to release your full enlightened potential. There is an article in huffingtonpost.com that describes how a man, after removal of his prostate due to prostate cancer, was still able to orgasm, despite his lack of erection, because he learned techniques that allowed his entire body and mind to be a part of the orgasmic experience. Here is a link to the article:

Thank you Peppercorn for stepping in for me. Your points are quite interesting and I have made note to make time to read the article you have drawn attention to.

Well in order to be completley sure on your question I would need more information on the person in question. Age, health both physical and mental and diet can all change the amount possible.

To answer your question on a general basis on the other hand. The average male ejaculation is roughly 2 ml or about a spoonful. The amount of sperm in said ejaculation depends on many factors. The average, healthy male, with no medical problems usually releases the same amount of sperm with every ejaculation.

The only medically recorded difference in the amount he is ejaculating is not the sperm, but the fluid it is carried in. The tantric exercises tend to heighten the arousal of the male as well as cause full body orgasm. This added arousal causes an increase in seminal fluid, which is produced in the Seminal vesicle , and is often called pre-cum because it clears the Urethra of any urine before ejaculation.

I hope this helps in answering your question along with Peppercorns response. The human body is able to adapt and change to many things and with some training I must say that it is possible to increase the amount of ejaculation in some cases, but not in all.

Let your mind inspire your sexuality in and out of the bedroom.
