| Inspired Author | Hello Kitty... I thought it had been a while since I had last found myself tucked into your round corner, and as I have a dilemma that I'm working on at present, I felt compelled to come to you, and your good friends here, for some advice. I am working on a smallholding here - a little farming plot of about 2 acres. If you american types don't have acres, its about the size of a football pitch. Lots of people have given me lots of interesting advice on what I should grow in it... all the obvious stuff like potatoes and cabbages. I think that's really boring, and instead I'm thinking about going into slightly unusual and more interesting stuff... like geese or meercats. Or maybe frogs... I could sell them to French restaurants. Or reindeers... just think what I could do with them at christmas. I'm thinking that weird things like that will produce a much higher yield 'per metre squared' and they'll also help me to keep a suitable level of sillyness in my life... which is much needed. Any advice would be much appreciate. Yours. Agriculturally challenged.

| Inspired Author | Well, Greedy darling (hehe, I am at a loss...LOL And, that does not happen very often, as you know. But, yes, we do have acres here in America...lol And, if this is for real, then I would suggest that you play it safe for a bit....potatoes and cabbage and such until you gain enough capital to start going into meerkats, geese, reindeer or frogs. Of course, if you put a few small ponds on the acreage, you may be able to do the frogs...of course, would they take that as an insult if you sell them frogs...since the French were known as Frogs back in the 18th and 19th centuries? Who is to say, but, one never knows. I am usually a "play it safe" girl, but, I am coming to realize that sometimes, it is necessary to take a risk once in a while. So, with all that being said, maybe you should go for it, and do the oddities...see what it brings you!

| Inspired Author | The French might take is as an insult, but then, they do eat frogs, so they can't really judge me now can they... I'm with you Kitty... I think it's best to take a few risks. It's just a lump of land that's sitting next to the house I'm planning on buying, so if I do buy it, I can have fun with it. Doesn't really need to make any money. I think I may try and start Europe's first ever coconut farm...] No one else seems to have done that round here... although, there may beb a reason for that.

| Inspired Author | Funny you should say that... I was having just the same conversation this weekend. Apparently Ostrich fat has pretty amazing qualities, and works wonders when spread on aching muscles. Quite high maintenance though, I'd imagine.
