Could it really be worth it?

Kissing is wonderful... for so many reasons.

I think that when you get into a relationship, you bring a whole load of stuff with you, and so does that other person. I haven't had huge numbers of one nights stands, having spent most of my adult sex life in anything between short flings to longer more stable relationships.

Every single time, a new woman means losing one bunch of habits, adopting a new load, and getting used to all her habits, and giving her time to slow get rid of the baggage that she's bringing from her ex too... the one area where you notice this the most is kissing.

I've known women to say that they realised their partner was being unfaithful, because something changed in their kiss, even just slightly. No two people kiss the same, but you also don't kiss two different people quite the same... it's a little like a dance, you take what you get and turn it around, match it, change it and go with it, putting your own personality and style into it too.

I'm always aware the first time I kiss a woman that she's going to be comparing me to the last guy she snogged, and that I'm probably doing a whole load of things to her that my ex liked, so instead I try and concentrate on what she does and how she starts and try to pick up from there... but at the end of the day, everyone's got their own style, their own tricks and their own habits... some can be undone, but it's a shame to bring down people's own uniqueness.

That said, I had a girlfrien when I was about 14, 15 (so before I was having sex) and we kissed for about an hour in her bedroom once. The entire course of that hour was spent with me trying to get her to stop sticking her tongue all the way down my throat... she literally was filling my mouth with her great big tongue, like something out of 'invasion of the body snatchers'... Of course, being a 15 year old ass-hole, I said nothing, avoided her phone calls for about the next two weeks before eventually finding a new girl friend who could kiss like a human and not a liposuction machine.

Shame because I saw here a few years later and she was really quite hot.

God, I miss being that young and care-free.

In other words Lily, kissing is. for me, a period of adaptation and learning each other, so I don't put too much weight on first kisses... but there's only so long you can give people to get with the program. There are some people who just don't adapt... when you kiss frogs, normally they just stay as frogs. lol

Many years ago I was told by a wise old man that the definition of a kiss is "an application at headquarters for a job at base". However kissing should not just be on the lips it must lead to kisses in many other places as a lead up to the main action.
Also, a long loving kiss should be the final act after enjoying a long and satisfying sexual encounter
