I was once on my way back home, driving on a road just two roads away from where I live. In the opposite direction, a landscaper's pickup truck was traveling the other way. All of a sudden, one of the shovels they had been carrying came flying off the back of the truck. Obviously it had not been secured down well.

So here I was, moving forward at about 35 miles per hour, and I see a large pointy shovel spinning horizontally towards my windshield, as if someone had chucked a spear at me. It had that kind of spinning movement. I realized it must have come from the passing vehicle. There was no time to get out of the way, no place to turn off. At the side of the two lane road was a high embankment. The distance between my car and the hurtling shovel was closing in fast. As I watched in disbelief, the spinning shovel suddenly lost its momentum and fell to the ground in front of my car -- parallel to it. Just as it did so, my car drove cleanly over the downed shovel. I had driven over the thing. Whew!!! I cannot begin to tell you what an extreme sense of relief I felt. As I think about it, I still marvel at how lucky I was.

This was at a time in my life when I was newly single, two young children to feed, and struggling to make ends meet (a loong time ago)...

So, I was walking along the road, pushing my youngest son in a stroller, when a passenger in a car waiting at the traffic lights, on the road next to me, rolled down her window and pointed to the pavement directly in front of me. I looked down and - to my great astonishment - saw a bundle of $50 bills just lying there!!

The passenger then said that the person who dropped them had gone into the shop directly behind me. My god... what I could have done with that money at the time - it would have made *such* a difference! But, without a second's hesitation, I went into the shop to return the money to its rightful owner, and was given a chocolate bar for my son for being so honest (it was the shopkeeper coming back from the bank). Oh... gee thanks!!!!

Walking out of the shop, I slapped myself for being such an unthinkingly honest idiot, but you see... I really had no choice, because the thing was:

The passenger in that car was wearing a habit...
And it was actually a CAR FULL OF NUNS!!!!

Both of these are just amazeing.

Pepper I know that be so terrifiedif i was a shovel coming at me like that!

Willingly, I think is it quite honsety of you to take that money into the store and give it to the rightful owner... Even with NUNs in the car some are not that honset.

Here something that might make you all smile...I know i sure did.

On vacation we were driving behind a semi-truck i had to take a double look, because scrolled inthe dirt and muck was...

"Be a flirt... lift up your shirt" I smiel giggled and gave my husband a nudge. He stiffle a chuckle and rolled his eye.

To it me was kinda funny because 99% of the time you "Please wash me" on the back of some these trucks.

In my younger days, Gypsy . . .

. . . I might have thought about being a 'flirt' !

And Willingly--

I think you did a wonderful thing. It doesn't matter in life what others may think of you. It only matters when you look at yourself in the mirror and how you feel about yourself.
