| Vintage Author | Three Deep Questions [at least I hope the responses are deep] Deep questions I challenge you to answer publicly: 1. Name a childhood regret, something you did as a kid that you wish you hadn't done. 2. Name something you love to do, but wish you could do better. 3. Name something really big that you want to do, but it is so huge you can't even get started. ---------------------------------------- Here are my answers: 1. Argued with my little brother the day before he died. 2. Read more history and see the places being written about. 3. Write my book ..... getting started is overwhelming.

| Vintage Author | 1. Name a childhood regret, something you did as a kid that you wish you hadn't done. We used to have a pet rabbit, but as his hutch was at the bottom of the garden we didn't visit him as much as we should have. He was fed and watered, but it makes me very sad to think of the lack of stimulation he must have had. He ran away in the depths of winter and almost certainly died and I can't help thinking that must have been a blessing. 2. Name something you love to do, but wish you could do better. I am tempted to write play the french horn (the instrument I play for a living) and although I am a very good player I would worry that if I were better I would be stuck in this profession forever. 3. Name something really big that you want to do, but it is so huge you can't even get started. Change career. It is so huge I just don't know where to begin. I would love to make writing a more significant part of my life, but am not sure how to and then there is the issue of supporting oneself financially while you study or retrain. I do think I will have to take the leap soon though. With regards to Lush's answer number 3... I say just go for it. It won't write itself young lady! I think of all the great writers I have met online you are one of a very small number who could actually write a novel (I am presuming it is a novel). JP x

| Childhood regret - I wish that I had pursued friendships when I was younger. I was never particularly shy, but I grew up fairly isolated and even when I was around other people I was very withdrawn. I didn't particularly mind at the time, but the older I get the more I realize how private a person I have become and how much I wish that I wasn't. Something I'd like to do better - Writing. Most of my experience with writing is more along the lines of conversation, debate, or essays, which I do fairly well. However, my attempts at creative writing have largely crumbled before I even get started... I end up getting lost in details while I'm planning to write and it never seems to come together into anything significant. Something really big - I don't rightly know at this point. I'm in the stage of college were I'm questioning whether or not what I'm studying is really what I want to do for the better part of my life. Even as I have my doubts about my current pursuit (Law) I am even more lost as to what else I should be doing... No matter what I decide, the enormity of the consequences the decision entails absolutely terrifies me. I'm way too young to say, "This is what I want to do for the rest of my life."
