Story submissions

It is not my style to cynical so please accept the following suggestion as merely that. I find this site to be one of the most frustrating sites out there when it comes to submitting one’s work. For example, using the Mindspired Editor is like getting a tooth pulled without anesthetics. In many cases, copying from MS Word results in html code being left behind once it is saved. I think if you want authors to showcase their work here, this part of the site needs to be streamlined so that it easy and reliable. One needs to walks away from here feeling their work will look good when it gets published.

Hi Shinzon,

Thank you for the message.

The editor was planned to be as easy as possible for the authors - unfortunately MS Word is not playing nicely when it comes to codes.

We have looked at various solutions and - so far - the only approach we have available is part of the major upgrade [which is still coming!].

We are still working behind the scenes to make this migration as smooth as possible.

Would you say you use MS Word exclusively to create/edit your stories?

Yes, I pretty much use MS Word for anything written. While it took some trying, I have been able to work out a system to get it compatible with your site. Takes a few steps but the last story I submitted seems to have turned out visually okay. When I get a few minutes, I write up the procedure I recently used if you'd like.
