mindspired v3.0 is coming!

As a Christmas present this year from our Staff, we are preparing for the upcoming launch of the redesigned mindspired.com - v3.0!

We will have LOTS of features implemented in the forums, the stories section, social networking, web 2.0 improvements and a much improved navigation system!

Watch this thread for more news - the launch is currently planned for the 1st quarter of 2008!

We present you with a teaser for the upcoming mindspired v3.0

New features:

= Entire mindspired site =

- buddy list [friends list] for the entire site. You will be able to receive notifications [pop-up's] when new buddies are online.
- User profile options [these include Daylight Savings options, style/theme chooser, selection of notification types for Private Messages, emails etc, thread display options, WYSIWYG editor options, language chooser, vCard downloads to allow the user profile to be placed into an address book]
- Email and password changes require current password
- Joinable Public User Groups [web 2.0 social features]
- user moods
- more AJAX features across the site


= Forums =
- Post rating
- User reputation system
- Thread and forum subscription [notification by email optional]
- Thread preview on mouse-over [mindTips v2]
- Email page to a friend option
- Similar Threads displayed on all thread views
- Linear, Threaded, Hybrid display views available

= Calendar =
- Supports multiple private and public calendars
- Viewable public and private events
- Show events to specific usergroups
- Private events reminder
- Ability to add custom fields

Just to keep you updated on the progress towards v3.0, we have started the data migration of the existing mindspired site to the new one.

We are going to list here the current completed tasks as well as the remaining items in the queue:

= Completed =

a. Forums
- all posts/threads/forums system - completely migrated and ready

b. User management
- all members accounts migrated and ready

c. Stories module
- module is ready, the stories and categories have NOT yet been transferred to the new version

d. Calendar module
- module is ready, the existing calendar entries have NOT yet been transferred

e. Pictures gallery module
- decision has not been made yet on which picture gallery module to be implemented. Possible wait until v3.1

f. mindChat module
- implemented and ready

g. Rest of the features for the new system
- implemented and ready


= In the queue to be completed =

a. The custom mindspired rating system including the TIT
b. The migration of all comments from the stories to the new system
c. Migration of all stories/categories
d. New mindspired skin/theme [v3.1]
