mindspired v4.5 is being baked

It is that time of the year and Santa has finally brought us some presents! Please note that we are preparing a major upgrade of mindspired platform.

This upgrade will enhance the forums and chat area mainly, with slight enhancements to the stories module as well. The chat upgrade is planned for tomorrow, Mon Jan 12th 2009.

Next upgrade of mindspired will be focused on the stories and news sections only.

We will disable the forums area 2 or 3 times during the day today, Sun Jan 11th 2009, for no longer than 5-10 minutes each time.

Greetings everyone!

mindspired v4.5 part I has been successfully promoted to Production.

We have added quite a few enhancements to our site, including:

1. Social Groups! - we are launching this as a test to see the impact on the community. Any mindspired member can now create discussion groups and any member can join them and participate/adhere to those they prefer.

These groups can be divided by categories and discussions can be created inside each one of them.

To access the Social Groups, go to 'Quick Links' on the 2nd navigation bar from the top - you will find the 'Networking' section in there. MS has already created the first group!

More examples will follow in the next couple of days.

2. Private messaging enhancements (quick reply, history, sorting and filtering, reporting, throttling)

3. Profile privacy (go to User CP - you can now set more options on who can view your friends/other blocks)

4. User gallery - pictures can now be moved from one album to another

5. Usability features - we have added more tools across the site to make updating and editing certain text much easier. For example, go into your profile and check the 'about me' section. You can edit your biography, location and so on on-the-fly.

Please check the new enhancements and report back any issues.

We have disabled two blocks on the homepage - they should be restored once v4.5 is fully promoted.

Part II will include stories submission enhancements and part III the chat system upgrade.
