Default Seker - April 2008

Let’s welcome this month’s featured author – Seker. It’s about time we put him in the spotlight. If we were handing out awards for member of the year, wait… aren’t we doing that, ooopps… shhhhh, then he would have been in the spotlight a long time ago. I, for one, am really looking forward to knowing a bit more about him in this interview. I hope he won’t mind if I get a little *placing my hand on his knee* more personal. *smile* I’m sure there are many loyal readers that are looking to know some of the more intimate details about him. *running my finger around in circles* I would have to say that his most entertaining and arousing piece so far is The Quest. I understand it started out as a chain story… let’s see if we can find out what happened. Let’s get started, shall we?

Lily: Well, lets get the usual stuff out of the way, like family, hobbies, occupation. Can you fill us in on those?

Seker: Well Lily, I am a 27 yr old man, I have a wife and 3 beautiful children, 1 step daughter, she is 8. My daughter is 6 and my son is 5. I currently reside amongst the beautiful mountains and valleys of Tennessee.

As far as hobbies go, I think that question has two sections, before and after I got married. The constants on the other hand are computers, video games, card and board games, and I am an avid reader of Stephen King. Before I was married I loved to go to the local sights and spend the day in the sun, but the wife does not care for such activities. And as far as erotica goes, I have been writing off and on for the last 8 yrs or so.

Now as for what I do for a living. I am currently between jobs and looking for work. I have been a blue collar, manual labor type of person my entire life. I have had multiple types of jobs, but nothing that was really right for me.

Lily: Married huh? *trying not to look disappointed but continuing to keep my hand on his knee* Well, you are not alone, I think a number of spouses change once the wedding is over. Or is that the honeymoon. Well, is there really a difference?

Does she support your writing, read it, enjoy it and encourage your continued loyal participation in mindspired?

Seker: In a word, NO. My wife does not say much about me writing because she is fairly sure I am going to do it anyway. She does not read anything I write although I have asked her many times to be a critic and an editor. As a matter of fact she is not incredibly fond of the fact that I joined mindspired in the first place. When it all comes down to it, she would prefer I shut down my word processor permanently.

Lily: I’m so sorry to hear that. You’re such a positive influence to mindspired.

Are you surprised to finally be here as featured author or have you been wondering when your turn was coming? I mean, it’s not like it hasn’t been well deserved for months now, you have written a couple of very nice pieces some time ago and the members have really taken a shine to your style.

Seker: Well I like to think I am a touch on the modest side most of the time. I have always hoped that one day I would write something that everyone would enjoy. Since joining mindspired and learning of the featured author award, I would be lying if I said it has not been a goal I have been working toward. And as anyone reading this can see, hard work truly does pay off and as it is said “Good things come to those who wait.”

Lily: Well, it’s not that it hasn’t been deserved before this time. We have enjoyed all of the stories you have written but The Quest came across, to me anyway, as a pure fantasy.

Is this something you are hoping to experience some day or are you content living this fantasy through your characters?

Seker: To tell you the truth, sex in public has always been a mild turn on for me. I say mild because the chance of getting caught makes things more interesting, but the idea of getting caught, is a completely different story. Jake's adventure in The Quest was like taking a doodle and turning it into a tapestry. I started out with my interest in public sexual acts then gave my character all the connections and money he would need to be able to live out his fantasies. I have done many things looking through the eyes of my characters and my characters have done some things through me. As far as Jakes story goes, I will live this fantasy through him.

Lily: Well, I guess a trip around the world with you is out of the question. And, I guess I’m not really a stranger but I could try to play the part! *smile*

Now, I know your original plan was to continue this story with many arousing chapters, what happened?

Seker: Yes lily, that is completely true. I am sorry to say that The Quest got put on a back burner because I got busy working on other things and I was working 3rd shift and sleeping too much. Once I sat down and started to write the second chapter some how the story had lost its luster for me. I was having difficulty moving the story forward, so I moved on to Our First Scenic Drive but still had hopes of returning to Jake and his new found love interest.

Lily: Do you think that you’ll find that inspiration again to continue with The Quest?

Seker: I can not say that The Quest has ended, instead what I will say is that it is on vacation. I hope to one day continue Jake's adventure to all of the beautiful places he is destined to see. I do not know, on the other hand, when or if the inspiration will ever hit. With most of my stories, I open my word processing program and I start typing. I am almost an automatic writer, I sit and my fingers tell a tale that I am learning about as I write it. I do not sit down with specific ideas exactly, more like the story writes itself. Well I tried to plan ahead for The Quest and I think the story's continuation suffered because of it.

Lily: When you write, who or what is your inspiration? Is it past experiences? Is there a particular person that inspires you? Or do your fantasies play a major role in inspiration:

Seker: My inspiration comes in many forms and all of the ones you have mentioned fit. I have written about past experiences in some of my stories. I leave it to the reader to guess which ones. Some of them are based on pure fantasy, ideas, thoughts and dreams I have had. And there are people who inspire me every day, yet I must say that each inspires something different. When I sat down to write Our First Scenic Drive I had one person in particular in mind. She is a wonderful woman and was for a while the only person I ever wrote for. She has inspired a lot of my work over the years. And now I can be proud to call her a co writer, thanks to the new set of chain stories we have been working on. I am naturally talking about our own mindspired member, Shy.

Lily: Oh yes, the lovely, the sexy, very talented and yummmm, very inspirational, Shy. What a fantastic person to have as your inspiration. I’ve been working on some of my own stories with her in mind. *grinning wickedly*

Ok, back on track, I have seen some great improvement in your writing style and the creativity of wording and analogies; do you see this as well? Are you pleased with your ability to arouse the readers?

Seker: I have gone back from time to time to read some of my previous work. I must admit that my style and my wording in my stories have changed dramatically. I think that some of that comes from the inspiration I get from you, lily, and some of your work. It also comes from the fact that when I posted my first story here, it was the first time that I ever wrote anything for a group of people, instead of just one person. When people read A Dinner For Two and actually let me know they enjoyed it, it built up some confidence and allowed me to do better with every story, or so I like to think.

Lily: *blushing* Thank you so much Seker. I am pleased to know that I am able to offer some positive influence on our members. Especially you. If ever you need anything more for inspiration, you just let me know. *licking my lips* Anything!

You are presently writing a chain story with Shy. Can you tell us what the difference is when writing with a partner vs. writing on your own, other than the obvious reason? For instance, does it provide more mental stimulation? *squeezing his thigh now* or perhaps some physical stimulation as well, or do you find it more challenging to adapt to another person’s style? Wow, is it getting warm in here or is my mind going into over drive?

Seker: Warm? Yes, a little.... Where was I? Oh I remember. Shy and I have known each other for years. One might say we know each other a little too well. She and I discuss what is likely to happen in the story and then, when possible, we talk while it is being written. If any new ideas come to mind, we can freely tell each other that we like it or don't. That is the beauty of working with someone you are close to. You can freely speak your mind without worry that you are going to upset someone. Shy and I both know if one or the other does not like something in the story, we only mention it for the benefit of the story. Working with a co author allows your thoughts to be expanded by them; in my personal opinion a co author can learn from you as well as teach you.

Lily: Can you tell us what your motivation is in this chain story with Shy? Does she *taking Seker’s hand and massaging the length of his fingers* ummm… help inspire you in any way? *smile*

Seker: Ummm, well, ummm inspiration? Oh, yes, Shy has always inspired my writing to some degree. She is the reason I started writing in the first place. I will tell that little story another time though. Shy has always told me she enjoyed my work and I have always had a little bit of difficulty in writing from a woman’s perspective. I wanted to write a story that would fully appeal to both men and women, not write every detail of what a man feels and have to guess about the woman. I knew that in order to get both sides of the story, I would need a co author who knew the side I did not, and for me the choice was obvious.

Lily: Do you have any advice to offer our current authors or those that are just starting out?

Seker: First and foremost don't hold back. Don't be afraid that nobody will like your work. I spent 7 yrs worrying that the only person who ever liked my stories was not in my life anymore. Secondly editing is your very best friend. Write your story in some kind of word program like Microsoft Word or Open Office which will auto correct your spelling errors or has a spell check. Then read your story over and over and over again, look for errors or things that you feel don't need to be there and add anything you think you missed. Edit, edit, edit then edit again. Most of all, write with passion, purpose and dedication. Write about your fantasies, your personal experiences or the random thoughts that run through your mind and never think it is not possible for you to be great.

Lily: After the conclusion of That Weekend in Vegas Renewed, do you have any plans for your next story?

Seker: Well I will try to get back to The Quest like I have so many times before. But if that does not pan out, then I have been thinking about writing a true story, my story and the odd and sometimes amusing things that have happened in my sexual life.

Lily: Well, I’m thinking that a little trip to Vegas can get that mind of you working again.

Can you tell us how you found mindspired and what you like most/least about it?

Seker: Well oddly enough... I did not find mindspired, it was given to me. Shy had found this site and was telling me about a story she read that she found interesting, I was curious so I asked her where she found it and she sent me the link to this site. I have been hooked ever since. Mindspired is my home while I am at home to some degree. I don't think more than a single day goes by that I am not checking in to see what is new. This place gives me somewhere to go so I can be me. And not have to worry about offending people, or saying something that one might not be accustomed to. I love coming in and talking to the normal crew, you know who you are.

Lily: Thank you Shy! I just can’t imagine mindspired without you. Well, I think that wraps up all that I have regarding your recognition and the site. I want you to know that took a lot of strength not to just move on to the things that we all really want to know. So, let’s get personal. *licking my lips – shifting in my chair* I mean, well kind of… not really… Well… never mind. Let’s continue. Can you tell us what your biggest fantasy is?

Seker: Wow there are so many. I think that my biggest fantasy would involve the woman I care for the most, some lotion or oil, a room with locks and all the time I could possibly need. I would want time to explore her body, to get to know every intimate detail of her body and mind. To memorize her every curve, crease, freckle, or birthmark on her body. With the lights lowered and possibly a few candles lit, I would give her a sensual massage and explore every inch of her skin with my fingertips. Ohhh... sorry my mind ran away with me.

Lily: Mmmm, no worries. I was picturing it right along with you. Only, I was… um… picturing it with me. I’m sure that wasn’t the case but we all have our fantasies huh? Next time, could you make it a threesome?

I understand you are going to be revealing a little more of yourself for our 2009 mindspired member calendar. Can you tell us what we can expect to see? *fanning myself – shifting again in my chair wondering what the hell good panties are*

Seker: Well I have been giving it some serious thought at any rate. And to tell you the truth, I will be taking some photos and deciding on which should be used. Its rather likely that I will cover the bare minimum, then again, I always have my hat. If you, or any other member wants more detail on what those photos will look like, I guess you will all have to buy the calendar.

Lily: *fanning myself* I am so fortunate to be the one deciding poses and fine tuning the pictures.

Are you going to be joining us in Vegas this year for our very first on line party? If so, what are you hoping to get from this experience?

Seker: I fear that Vegas is but a dream for me. I have always wanted to go, yet it seems something always prevents it. I was supposed to go to Vegas back in 2001. I had my plane ticket reserved and I was supposed to meet someone there who was going to help pay for the room. But unfortunately, I ended up not going because I had a pregnant girlfriend here in Tennessee and it was decided that it would be in appropriate for me to go to Vegas and share a room with someone of the opposite sex. Just another of the little disappointments I have suffered. Now I am not saying I wont try to be there but without a job, finances are kinda tight.

Lily: Well Seker, as much as you contribute to mindspired through your positive position, arousing story publications and by just being the man that you are, I think dreams just might be coming true this year for you! Don’t ever give up. Thank you so much for all that you do for us.

*shifting in my chair again* Well, I think that about wraps it up and if there was something more, I sure can’t think of it right now. Can I buy you a drink? *smiling wickedly* I hear you hold your liquor very well! *we stand* *leaning in and kissing him on the cheek then patting him on the ass* Mmmm.. or maybe two drinks?

Thumbs up Re: Seker

Very nice interview I must say. But it takes not just heavenly women like you Lily and Shy but a man among men like seker to pull it off. ;-)
Lily does not exaggerate when she says you do so much for us all. You are always welcoming, engaging, and friendly. That is not easy for a man who has known life's odd slings and arrows.
What I like most is your undie-ing hope, and your reverence for your characters (esp women) while simultaneously being hot as a poker when you write!
Congratulations and thank you for being such a good example for the rest of us men!

Congrats on being in the spotlight Seker.

You totally deserve it. You're an excellent writer, a hugely positive presence on the site and generally a jolly nice chap.

I hope that your job concerns are settled quickly too, they say the devil finds work for idle bodyparts... lol
