Default Writing a mystery story

Here is a nice site that will assist you if you are seriously thinking about a mystery story. I think we need to jazz up the place a bit and get more creative. Sure.... I'm all for a good sex story... but there is so much more to sex and well..... you can put sex in ANY story!

Step 1: Read a Mystery by Me | Mystery Writing with Joan Lowery Nixon | Writing with Writers | Scholastic.com

There are so many tools to be found on the web that can hopefully give you a little inspiration to branch out and try something new!

Let us know your thoughts and if you're ready to get started. We have many projects in mind for our most creative authors.

Do you think this is an area for you? Would it be best served as a group story? A select few get together and brainstorm/write?

I can't wait to hear from you!

hugs...

Lily

Thanks Mangus... you are always up for some action huh? *smile* I need to get back into my writing and with Lady Heather... I might just have time to do so. There are so many mysteries in life... which one would you tackle first?

I was thinking.. my best friend was possessed by something... became distant, non responsive to reality... big twist about the hospital... medication.... and so forth. I wonder if I shall cure my friend in the story?

So many things to think about!

Maybe we can talk Spir3d into another contest.

The very prospect of a sexual mystery has the wheels in my mind turning. Yet I fear that I am a bit rusty when it comes to writing, as my last story clearly showed. I am also worried that if I were to write a mystery of this type, it might end up a mini-novel instead of a short story.

I think I will have to find a way to work writing into my free time again. Lets see if we can teach this "old dog a new trick". I believe I shall attempt this interesting approach to erotica and see how it turns out. I guess we shall see how I do based on if I ever get it posted or not... lol.

I want to do this too... I don't really know where to start...

I have never written mystery before, and must admit that I have a natural aversion from anything like science-fiction, or anything that is intrinsically 'unreal' like vampires, werewolves and time travel...

but, murder stories, crime, conspiracy etc... all that really gets my mind whirring... a sexual predator murderer story? Crime and sex do meld so wonderfully, there must be something I could do there...

Should we try and write a group story, or start with a few short ones?
Are you still looking at sex as a key theme, or is the idea to really change genres?

Sounds fun in any case!
